Many people doesn’t ever worry about their Computer power supply. The SMPS is aslo one of the important part of the PC which no one cares about :(. Most people simply use the power supply that came along with their computer. If it ever gets overheated and breaks down or stops working then that is the only time most computer users ever think of replacing or upgrading their computer power supply. Your computer must have added drives, a second cd/dvd reader or burner, a powerful video card , or a number of external USB devices like mice, keyboards , external drives powered by the USB port alone etc. These all take up much power. All these devices will add extra burden to your power supply. SO you need to have atleast a power supply with 350 – 400 watts or more. You also need to have extra fans to cool the power supply which will protect it from burning because of over heating.
