Via Technologies launched EPIA PX5000EG Pico-ITX June 7, 2008
Via Technologies launched EPIA PX5000EG Pico-ITX: x86 processor, with the smallest energy consumption on the smallest base plaque in the world (10 x 7,2 cm). The processor consumes very less power. i had recently rread many reviews about the new processor and felt that it would be a very good success in the market.
VIA Eden ULV processor has a frequency of 500 MHz and maximum energy consumption of 1 watt (in stand-by energy consumption is only 0,1 watt), being considered the most efficient processor in the world (from the viewpoint of energy consumption in the same category). VIA EPIA PX5000EG plaque is based on the other company success, VIA EPIA PX10000 Pico-ITX, which allows the whole x86 performance in an extremely low space, using innovative technologies for energy efficiency and warmth dissipation.
VIA EPIA PX5000EG supports up to 1 GB of DDR2 memory, has a LVDS/DVI connector, VGA, integrated sound plaque: sound on 5.1 channels, line-out, line-in, mic-in, S/PDIF-in connectors, integrated Fast Ethernet 100/10 network plaque, IDE and SATA support, 6 USB 2.0 ports and one COM port. I have to see very good laptops coming with the new via processor.
